Jeung Myung-suk is also the chairman of Chang Myung Group and the representative architect of Chang Myung Architects. In February 2023, Chairman Jeung Myung-suk received the Achievement Award from the Gyeongnam Architects Association of Korea. The Achievement Award is given to those recognized for their contributions to the development of architectural culture in Gyeongnam and the Gyeongnam Architects Association of the Korean Architects Association.
Chairman Jeung Myung-suk has been actively participating in the architectural design contest as a representative architect of Chang Myung Architects. He has won the grand prize several times at the architectural grand prize festival held in Gimhae, his primary activity site. In 2014, he was also selected as one of the "100 Architects of the Year" by the Korean Architects Association.
Jeung Myung-suk has been the company's representative architect for about 30 years since he opened Chang Myung Architects in 1994. "Nothing is impossible," he said, repeating himself when working on the project. He said it was important as an architect to keep questioning his ideas. He said, If you conclude that it is impossible to answer a problem alone, there will be no development. There is definitely a solution, and if there is no answer on your own, you should ask others for advice and explore to find a solution with a humble attitude.
An architect has to make hundreds or thousands of decisions in a project, starting with minorities. Architect Jeung Myung-suk said he had not confirmed his idea without verifying it. He said it was imperative to involve hundreds of thousands of doubts and reviews before being convinced. Decisions made through hundreds of doubts give him confidence in his design decision as an architect, eventually giving the client confidence and leading to the project's success.
