Chang Myung Group's Chang Myung Architects participated in the Gimhae Jangyu Yulha Complex Cultural Center Design Contest in February 2013 in collaboration with Dawool Architecture. Chang Myung and Dawool Architecture's collaborated work "The Gate of Gaya" was selected as the best work in May 2013, and they were in charge of the design of the Jangyu Yulha Complex Cultural Center.

Gimhae City held a design contest to select a design that could play a central role in the performance culture, education, and sports of the Gimhae Jangyu New Town. Nine teams participated in the contest, of which six advanced to the finals.

The winning work, "The Gate of Gaya," was praised for its excellent stage plan for the concert hall that can be converted into a multi-purpose mode and its originality and artistic appearance based on Gaya culture. In addition, the jury selected it as the best work, judging that the aesthetically sophisticated roof design could serve as a landmark of Jangyu New Town.
