In March 2022, Chang Myung Architect's work was elected to the design contest for the Geochang-gun building extension project. The winning work was said to be a new face-to-face plan that broke away from the uniform and rigid image of government offices, and it was expected that the Geochang-gun office building would become a symbol of the Geochang-gun administration.
By securing various forms of office and idle space, the winning work of Chang Myung Architects has improved the efficiency of residents' convenience and administrative work, as well as a sense of openness and eco-friendliness, such as mining and ventilation. In particular, it is said that it was elected with attention in that it was a new face-to-face plan that broke away from the traditional and conservative image of government offices.
Chang Myung designed it in line with the trend of the times when government offices broke away from the traditional and authoritative image of the past and changed into an open space for communication with residents. Beyond the shape of the correct rectangular building, it was expressed as being out of frame by twisting the floors, and windows were placed on the entire outer wall in front of the building to realize a sense of openness.
Geochang-gun planned this contest to improve the quality of public work and administrative services by securing insufficient office space in existing government buildings and expanding convenience facilities and idle spaces. The expanded building will have a total floor area of 1,612㎡ and five stories above the ground. After completion, the space of the existing office will be used as a convenience facility for residents.
